Shelley graduated from Otago Medical School in 2005 and became a fellow of the Royal NZ College of General Practice in 2014.

She joined Johnsonville Medical Centre in 2023 as the General Practitioner for the Wellington Phoenix A-League football players (male and female) who are not enrolled at other medical centres. Shelley provides acute services for club players requiring timely assessment and treatment.

Shelley's interests include concussion management, youth health, sexual health, women's health and mental health; she is also passionate about supporting athletes to optimise their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

Shelley lives up the coast with her husband and two teenage children, and enjoys running, snowboarding, and general outdoor adventuring.
