2026 Flu Vaccine Information

Flu season is almost here; help keep our most vulnerable members of the community safe this flu season by getting your annual flu vaccine.

Our appointment books open from Thursday 26 March, with bookings available from Wednesday 1 April.

The flu vaccine is free for patients who meet one of the following criteria:

👍all people aged 65 and over

👶pregnant people (any trimester)

🫁people under 65 who have a cardiovascular / respiratory / autoimmune disease*

😷Children under 4 who have been hospitalised for or have a history of significant respiratory illness

🩺people who have diabetes, chronic renal disease or any cancer

For those outside of the funding criteria, there will be a charge which can be advised at the time of booking.

To book your flu vaccine with our nursing team, please call us from 26 March on 04 920 8850. The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone aged over 6 months.

Available now, and free for all, is the COVID-19 booster vaccine; you can have this at the same time as your flu or book two separate appointments. The COVID-19 vaccine is free and recommended for those 65+, Māori and Pacifica aged 50+, people living in aged care facilities and people 12+ who are immunocompromised or have a medical condition that puts them at higher risk of a severe illness from COVID-19.  Call us to book.

We are closed on Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April for Good Friday and Easter Monday. We are open our regular hours on Saturday 4 April.
