Great news, we are starting our 2021 flu immunisations on Wednesday 14 April. Flu vaccines save lives and with borders starting to open we are expecting to have the flu in our community in 2021.
At this time, we are only being supplied vaccines for people who are 65 or older and these immunisations are all fully funded. These vaccines are specifically manufactured to support those who are 65 or older.
We do not yet have a confirmed date for any other funded or unfunded vaccines, other than they are expected at some point in May. The availability of these vaccines is centrally managed across the whole country so we will provide an update as soon as we know more.
Due to the building work currently underway at the medical centre we are pleased to have partnered with Johnsonville Shopping Centre and will be offering flu immunisations at our Vaccination Pop-up in the shopping centre near Countdown. The Pop-up will be open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
If you prefer you can also get your immunisation in Thorndon at our Thorndon Medical Centre Vaccination Pop-up at Rugby House, 100 Molesworth Street Thorndon.
We will be primarily offering booked immunisations at the Pop-up. You are welcome to drop by in person to book your immunisation; we may also be able to do the immunisation at the time but this is not guaranteed and so you may need to come back later.
To book your vaccination, call us on 04 920 8850 and we will be able to book a time at either location that works for you.
If you are coming to medical centre for a consultation you can also get your vaccine at the same time; let us know when you book. This is also currently only available for those 65 and older.
We do not have any information about general availability of the COVID-19 vaccine, but we will share this information as the rollout timeframe is confirmed.
